Austria(Bureau Reports) Several people were injured in a tram accident Tuesday morning.
A train on line 62 ran into a train of the Wiener Lokalbahn at the underground station Matzleinsdorfer Platz. The accident came about is still unclear. After the alert, the professional fire brigade went to the scene of the accident with 20 vehicles and 70 men. Due to the accident, there were major driving disabilities on the route. Lines 6, 18, 62 and the Wiener Lokalbahn to Baden were affected. At around 9.45 a.m., the scene of the accident was cleared and regular traffic on the route was resumed. The damaged vehicles could be put into operation and removed without technical support, as a spokeswoman for Wiener Linien announced. How exactly the accident came about is still unclear. “We will evaluate all the data and take a close look at everything,” said the transport operator’s spokeswoman for the next step. It could take a few days until there is a result and clarity.
