Potential victims would initially be unwilling and easy to manipulate, followed by nausea and dizziness, according to the Viennese police. It is therefore advisable to never leave drinks unattended, to let friends take care of drinks and to consult someone you trust if you are dizzy or light-headed. Immediate medical attention is recommended. Due to the very fast onset of action and a relatively short detection period of around twelve hours, it is also important to seek medical help immediately if you suspect you have been given knockout drops. The police should also be informed immediately in order to avert the danger from other people. With the “Together.Safe” initiative, the police want to make young women and girls who are leaving for the first time in a long time in clubs and discos after the restrictions on social contacts during the coronavirus pandemic, aware of possible dangers.
