South Africa will be taking on Australia in the second ODI of the five-match series at the Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein on Saturday, September 9. Australia won the first match and has taken a lead in the series and will be hoping to continue their winning momentum.
South Africa had a very disappointing batting performance as no batter stepped up to support captain Temba Bavuma who fought alone and scored a gritty hundred. Their bowling lineup tried defending the score but the score was always going to be too low to defend.
The Australian bowling lineup did a great job and performed as a unit with every bowler taking at least a wicket. Josh Hazlewood led the bowling attack as he took 3 wickets and led the side. But the Australian team was in trouble after an unexpected batting collapse and an injury to their star all-rounder Cameron Green. That’s when Marnus Labuschagne was put into the side as a concussion substitute and he stepped up and took away the game from the home side scoring 80. He was supported by Aston Agar from the other end scoring 48 runs and helping the Aussies to cross the line.
