The 25-year-old Viennese was injured. According to his own statements, he had nodded off at the wheel shortly before. The red car turned 180 degrees due to the force of the impact and was catapulted back onto the road. The vehicle was totaled.
The driver of the car from the fleet, which is provided to the Salzburg Festival by a German vehicle manufacturer as a sponsorship, was able to notify the emergency services himself and, according to the police, was slightly injured in the impact. He was taken to the casualty hospital by the Red Cross. The alcohol test in the 25-year-old was negative.
