RAWALPINDI – Day 3 of Rawalpindi Test saw Pakistani pacers dominating Bangladesh’s batting lineup. Khurram Shahzad and Mir Hamza reduced visitors to 26/6, after they had resumed the day at 10/0.
By lunch, Shanto led Bangladesh was struggling at 75/6, still trailing by 199 runs. Shahzad made early breakthroughs by dismissing Zakir Hasan (1), Shadman Islam (10), and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (1) in quick succession.
Hamza then joined in, taking the wickets of Mominul Haque (1) and Mushfiqur Rahim (3). Shahzad further deepened Bangladesh’s troubles by removing Shakib Al Hasan (2).
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (33*) and Litton Das (13*) are attempting to stabilize the innings, having added 49 runs for the seventh wicket.
Earlier, Bangladesh bowled out Pakistan for 274 after opting to field first. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the star with the ball, taking five wickets, while Taskin Ahmed contributed with three wickets.
For Green Shirts, Shan Masood (57), Saim Ayub (58), and Salman Ali Agha (54) each scored half-centuries. Babar Azam added 31 runs from 77 balls, extending his streak to 15 innings without a fifty in Test cricket.
Earlier, the first day of play had been washed out due to rain.
