Pakistan secured a significant victory over India during the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting held in Bangkok.
The meeting, chaired by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, saw Pakistan- and India-backed panels compete for three ACC director positions.
According to sources, the Pakistan-backed panel won all three director seats after a closely contested election.
India was represented at the meeting by Rajeev Shukla. Discussions also focused on next year’s Asia Cup, scheduled to be hosted by Bangladesh, with proposals to hold matches in Sylhet, Mirpur and Chattogram.
The meeting also approved the ACC budget and reviewed arrangements for the Women’s Asia Cup in Dubai.
