Pakistan intensified its diplomatic drive to ease tensions in the Middle East as Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Iran alongside Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for high-level discussions focused on ending the conflict.
Pakistani delegation met Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni after arriving in Iran, with the talks centred on regional stability and efforts to prevent further escalation.
The visit carries particular importance as Islamabad seeks peaceful, lasting and comprehensive resolution to the Middle East conflict. CDF’s latest trip also marks his fourth visit to Iran, highlighting the growing importance Islamabad attaches to direct engagement with Tehran.
The visit comes as Pakistan continues to pursue a diplomatic role in the crisis, advocating dialogue and de-escalation at a time of heightened tensions across the region.
Iranian Foreign Ministry appreciated Pakistan for key mediating role, adding weight to Islamabad’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to bring the sides closer to a negotiated solution.
With Asim Munir and Mohsin Naqvi now in Tehran, Pakistan is seeking to translate its mediation efforts into concrete diplomatic progress while pushing for a broader regional path towards peace and stability.
