LAHORE – The wedding of Mahnoor Safdar, daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Captain Safdar, has drawn fresh attention after luxury necklace reportedly worth up to $15 million became one of the most talked-about details of the ceremony.
The necklace seen on Mahnoor is said to be Mouawad Le Soleil, a high-jewellery creation centred around an exceptionally rare 62.34-carat Fancy Intense Yellow Diamond. Based on current exchange rates, the reported value of the necklace alone comes to roughly Rs3.3 billion to Rs4.2 billion, placing the jewellery piece among the most eye-catching luxury items associated with the high-profile wedding.
Mouawad creation features a cushion-cut yellow diamond surrounded by a brilliant halo of white diamonds. The centrepiece is intricate diamond collar decorated with floral and marquise-shaped clusters, giving the necklace its distinctive appearance. The piece belongs to the Le Soleil High Jewellery collection by luxury jeweller Mouawad and is reportedly part of a larger matching jewellery suite.

The complete suite includes the necklace, a bracelet, a ring and a pair of drop earrings, with the entire set carrying an estimated value of around $42 million.
Maryam Nawaz had earlier hinted at her daughter’s upcoming marriage when she was asked in the UK whether Mahnoor intended to enter politics. Instead of discussing a political career for her daughter, the Punjab chief minister responded by asking people to pray for her good fortune.
Mahnoor has now been married to Azaan Jabbar, son of industrialist Jabbar Khalid, marking a major milestone for the Sharif family.
For the wedding, Mahnoor appeared in a soft ivory ensemble complemented by glowing pink-toned makeup, while the reported Mouawad necklace became a major talking point because of its extraordinary diamond and eye-watering estimated price.
The reported figures have also sparked a wave of discussion online, with social media users focusing heavily on the contrast between the jewellery’s multi-billion-rupee valuation and Pakistan’s broader economic challenges.
