Japan election results Komeito’s Saito Tetsuo will win in the Hiroshima No.3 district, He is the land, infrastructure, transport and tourism minister.
Hiroshima is the prefecture where Prime Minister Kishida is running. The LDP won the No.3 district seat last time out. But it did not field a candidate this time, since the lawmaker who occupied that seat was given jail time for buying votes. Six candidates ran for the seat.
Komeito brought in a veteran candidate to try to secure this seat for the coalition. Saito Tetsuo won a Lower House seat 9 times before this election.
