The sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), was streamed live from Austria to 194 nations and translated into 14 languages. Think Tank 2022 is a global multi-sector network of more than 2,000 experts from a wide range of fields—government, business, academia, faith, media, arts and culture—dedicated to the collaborative search for solutions to the world’s most critical challenges. Approximately 150 guests attended the webinar on Jun 30, 2021, at 03:00 PM. UPF-Austria Universal Peace Federation President Peter Haider served as the webinar moderator.Speakers affirmed and enhanced the concept of Think Tank 2022.
Speakers at the meeting were among those who expressed their views, Mr Alyn Ware, Director, Peace and Disarmament Program, World Future Council. Dr Walter Feichtinger, President, Center for Strategic Analysis (CSA) in Vienna, Dr. Beatrice Bischof, Foreign Affairs Association, Munich, Germany, Dr. Dieter Schmidt, Medical doctor, Chairman of UPF Central Europe, Mr. Jacques Marion, Co-chair, UPF Europe & Middle East, France, Dr. Katsumi Otsuka, Chair, UPF Europe & Middle East A citizen of Japan and remarks: Dr Afsar Rathor President of LIOS, Austria. Expressing their views, the speakers said peace also includes goodwill, trust and justice. The foundation of peace is each human being. The coronavirus taught us the lesson that we have to act and cooperate on a global scale.” “As leaders from around the world who cherish the values of faith, family, democracy and justice under law. We commend you for coming together at this event to continue to sow the seeds of peace, believing that in time we will reap a harvest of peace that will benefit the people of Korea, the United States and all mankind.”The Korean War – the first major conflict of the Cold War – broke out in 1950. Several European countries sent troops in support of the United Nations Command. Until then a relatively unknown country in the West, Korea was put on the map. The armistice signed in July 1953 brought an end to the armed conflict on the peninsula, which remained divided between North and South. However, no peace treaty was signed. Whether there will ever be lasting peace depends in great part on the major powers in the region.
Europe’s role has evolved from military intervention to a soft power approach, economic cooperation with South Korea, humanitarian aid for and diplomacy with North Korea. Drawing on their experience in conflict management, the panellists will address the question of Europe’s contribution to the easing of tensions on the Korean peninsula. More speakers said the south during the Korean War and have devoted their lives to advancing a more peaceful world and reuniting Korea. Think Tank 2022, will spearhead peacebuilding initiatives such as a UN Peace Park on the DMZ; building a Korea-Japan undersea tunnel; boosting Geumgang Mountain tourism development; and helping separated Korean families find their relatives. A reunified, denuclearized Korean Peninsula will bring massive peace and prosperity to the peninsula and the region. Religious freedom is indeed the foundation of all freedoms…with prayer, faith, and commitment to the Lord, peace will follow. Many speakers, including former Republic of Korea Prime Minister Chung Sye-Kyun and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, praised the timeliness of Think Tank 2022 where “international cooperation and solidarity is needed now more than ever.
