RAWALPINDI – A metro bus traveling from Islamabad to Rawalpindi caught fire near Sixth Road, narrowly avoiding a major accident.
The bus, running from Secretariat to Saddar, suddenly erupted in flames.
Reports said the driver acted swiftly, stopping the bus at the station and safely evacuating all passengers. Although the fire was initially controlled, strong winds reignited it, engulfing the entire bus.
Rescue 1122 teams arrived promptly and extinguished the flames. Fortunately, since the bus was empty, there were no casualties.
Preliminary reports indicate that the fire originated in the engine, and further investigations are underway.
